[The Mortal Instruments] Cassandra Clare shared an UNIDENTIFIED SNIPPET on her Tumblr account!

With only days away from the release of 'CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE', the last book of THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS SERIES, Cassandra Clare shared an UNIDENTIFIED SNIPPET on her Tumblr account. The snippet involves SIMON and his constant ramblings to MAGNUS about "taking Alec back"!

You better read it for yourselves then fellow Shadowhunters and bookworms:

“Hi, Magnus. It’s Simon. You know me. Well, you called me Soames last time we spoke, but we’ve hung out. I’m calling to, uh … to—sorry if this is out of line—suggest that you maybe take Alec back.

“I think it would be good for morale. Honestly, Alec was really horrible to Clary when they first met, and if he turns all cranky again, I don’t know what Clary’s going to do. In those days, Clary had way fewer weapons and way fewer brothers.

“This time it’s different. Her boyfriend is on fire. She’s got enough problems. I guess what I’m saying is that we’d all appreciate it if you took one for the team.

“Not that I’m part of a Shadowhunter team. Shadowhunters don’t let vampires join the team.

“This message probably seems selfish, and also crazy. I honestly do feel bad for Alec. He’s a good guy. Much less annoying than Jace. I’ve always felt like, given the opportunity, we could be friends. Maybe bros. Maybe we could be bros who shoot arrows together.

“It may at this point be obvious that Isabelle forced me to make this phone call.”

The things that I would do to be able to read the full scene for this snippet. With the response of Magnus and all, or the next scene after that. So, I mean the entire book? Ha! :)

[The Mortal Instruments] TMI: City of Bones Movie among the big winners at the Canadian Screen Awards!

CBC News reports, "Action-adventure film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones — based on bestselling young adult novel series by Cassandra Clare — was among the big winners during a non-televised gala late Sunday afternoon, when awards were presented in nearly two dozen categories.

Previously announced as the winner of the Golden Reel Award (the homegrown film with the biggest Canadian box office, after grossing more than $5.2 million in Canada), The Mortal Instruments received further kudos for its visual effects, make-up, overall sound and sound editing."

[The Mortal Instruments] NEW 'CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE' SNIPPET - SPOILERS!

Idris had been green and gold and russet in the autumn, when Clary had first been there. It had a stark grandeur in the winter: the mountains rose in the distance, capped white with snow, and the trees along the side of the road that led back to Alicante from the lake were stripped bare, their leafless branches making lace-like patterns against the bright sky.

Sometimes Jace would slow the horse to point out the manor houses of the richer Shadowhunter families, hidden from the road when the trees were full but revealed now. She felt his shoulders tense as they passed one that nearly melded with the forest around it: it had clearly been burned and rebuilt. Some of the stones still bore the black marks of smoke and fire. “The Blackthorn manor,” he said. “Which means that around this bend in the road is …” He paused as Wayfarer summited a small hill, and reined him in so they could look down to where the road split in two. One direction led back toward Alicante — Clary could see the demon towers in the distance — while the other curled down toward a large building of mellow golden stone, surrounded by a low wall. “ … the Herondale manor,” Jace finished.

The wind picked up; icy, it ruffled Jace’s hair. Clary had her hood up, but he was bare-headed and bare-handed, having said he hated wearing gloves when horseback riding. He liked to feel the reins in his hands. “Did you want to go and look at it?” she asked.
His breath came out in a white cloud. “I’m not sure.”

CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE OWNS THE SLOT FOR MY MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK FOR 2014. I JUST NEED THIS BOOK LIKE ... NOW BUT AT THE SAME TIME *sobs* I'm gonna be sad to say goodbye to one of my favorite series. Speechless.

FANDOM AND BOOK NEWS: TLH stands for... THE LAST HOURS!

After theory-filled months in the Shadowhunter fandom, The Bookseller.com accidentally revealed the full title for Cassandra Clare's new trilogy and it was just days away from the promised date of Clare's reveal of it on her Tumblr page.

Here's a part of what she posted on her Tumblr page after stumbling across The Bookseller's post:

"The beans are spilled! TLH, yes, stands for The Last Hours.
The Last Hours is a new Shadowhunters series set in 1903. It deals with Will and Tessa’s children, James and Lucie Herondale, as well as Cordelia Carstairs, Charlotte and Henry’s children, Tatiana Blackthorn’s children, the Lightwood kids, and many more. 1903 is right around the time the Victorian era tips over into the Edwardian era — beautiful clothes, fabulous history and so much more that I’m excited to write about! (I’ve even been keeping a crazyPinterest board for inspiration.)
The title is taken from the book Great Expectations, of which the series is a retelling: those of you who’ve read The Midnight Heir installment of the Bane Chronicles probably have some ideas about certain of the characters!"

She also revealed in her post that there will be three books in the series - Chain of Thorns, Chain of Gold, and Chain of Iron. But the exact order of publication isn't decided yet so she'll just keep us updated in the coming months.

[The Mortal Instruments] NEW 'CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE' SNIPPET features 'THE DARK ARTIFICES' trilogy main characters - Julian and Emma!

Cassandra Clare responded to a fan question on Tumblr concerning if readers are going to be able to get know Julian and Emma in City of Heavenly Fire and here's what she said:

"I do think you will get to know Julian and Emma in City of Heavenly Fire. There is a lot about them. The first notes my editor sent me back on the draft of CoHF were about Emma and Jules.
The hope was to introduce you to the whole family, including Tiberius and Livvy, and Drusilla and even Tavvy (though he is about 2.) It is worth remembering Jules and Emma are only twelve! They have a partnership, extremely focused around the littler kids, but not a great romance …though the seeds of something else are there."

In that same post, Clare graciously shared a NEW SNIPPET from City of Heavenly Fire which features these adorable pair,

"Julian’s skin was cold, as if he’d been leaning out the window into the night air. She turned his hand and drew with her finger on his bare forearm. It was something they’d done since they were small children and didn’t want to get caught talking during lessons. Over the years they’d gotten so good at it that they could map out detailed messages on each other’s hands, arms, even their shoulders through their T-shirts.

D-I-D Y-O-U E-A-T? she spelled out.

Julian shook his head, still staring at Livvy and Ty. His curls were sticking up in tufts as if he’d been raking his hands through his hair. She felt his fingers, light on her upper arm. N-O-T H-U-N-G-R-Y."

Awww shizz, these two are just so cute! I think we're going to see a lot of how Julian  and Emma's dynamics work in City of Heavenly Fire because Cassie is totally preparing us for The Dark Artifices. dhfdhad I definitely cannot wait to get my hands on City of Heavenly Fire ... but on the other hand, *sobs* it's going to be the last book for one of my favorite series! *sigh*
