"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that I or us, readers are eagerly anticipating. Here's my pick this week ...

Title: UNTIL FRIDAY NIGHT (The Field Party #1)
Author: Abbi Glines (Website | Twitter)
Publication Date: August 25, 2015
Publisher: Simon Pulse

SYNOPSIS

To everyone who knows him, West Ashby has always been that guy: the cocky, popular, way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good football god who led Lawton High to the state championships. But while West may be Big Man on Campus on the outside, on the inside he’s battling the grief that comes with watching his father slowly die of cancer.

Two years ago, Maggie Carleton’s life fell apart when her father murdered her mother. And after she told the police what happened, she stopped speaking and hasn’t spoken since. Even the move to Lawton, Alabama, couldn’t draw Maggie back out. So she stayed quiet, keeping her sorrow and her fractured heart hidden away.

As West’s pain becomes too much to handle, he knows he needs to talk to someone about his father—so in the dark shadows of a post-game party, he opens up to the one girl who he knows won’t tell anyone else.

West expected that talking about his dad would bring some relief, or at least a flood of emotions he couldn’t control. But he never expected the quiet new girl to reply, to reveal a pain even deeper than his own—or for them to form a connection so strong that he couldn’t ever let her go…

I'm on a blogging funk for the past couple of weeks now and I wasn't even planning on making this post. But I simply cannot not blog and share about this very intriguing book that I JUST NOW stumbled across. Did the synopsis spike your interest and curiosity? Because right now, this book is all I can think about and my head's just exploding with questions and theories on how this will go down. How will Kelsey tell Peter that she isn't her sister, Michelle? How exactly will Peter find out about it? How will Peter react? Questions. Questions. Questions, please stop.

Anyways, I love the sound this book and I'm very curious as to how everything will play out in the story. I just hope it will live up to my expectations. What do you guys think? Are you adding A Million Miles Away in your to-read list? :)

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY | LEAVING AMARILLO (Neon Dreams #1) by Caisey Quinn

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that I or us, readers are eagerly anticipating. Here's my pick this week ...

Title: LEAVING AMARILLO (Neon Dreams #1)
Author: Caisey Quinn (Website | Twitter
Publication Date: March 17, 2015
Publisher: William Morrow

SYNOPSIS

Nashville meets New Adult in Neon Dreams, a dramatic, sexy series from bestselling author Caisey Quinn, about a country band’s rocky road to fame—and the ambition, dreams, and love of the people who make the music.

Dixie Lark hasn’t had it easy. She lost her parents in an accident when she was young and grew up in a ramshackle house on a dirt road in Amarillo with her ailing grandparents and overprotective older brother. Thanks to her grandfather, Dixie learned to play a mean fiddle, inspired by the sounds of the greats—Johnny and June, Waylon, and Hank. Her grandfather’s fiddle changed Dixie’s life forever, giving her an outlet for the turmoil of her broken heart and inspiring a daring dream.

Ten years later, Dixie and her brother, Dallas, are creating the music they love and chasing fame with their hot band, Leaving Amarillo. But Dixie isn’t enjoying the ride. All she can think about is Gavin, the band’s tattooed, tortured drummer who she’s loved since they were kids. She knows he feels the connection between them, but he refuses see her as more than his best friend’s little sister.

Convinced that one night with Gavin will get him out of her system, Dixie devises a plan. She doesn’t know that her brother has forbidden Gavin from making a move on her-a promise he swore he’d always keep . . . a promise that once broken will unexpectedly change the future for Dixie, Gavin and the band.

Pre-order: AMAZON

Aha! I just love the complication between Gavin and Dixie, with Dixie being the little sister of his best friend. That alone will spark up problems and the chemistry of these two characters! I'm excited how this story will flow and how this book will differ from other books out there with premises quite like this one. :)

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that I or us, readers are eagerly anticipating. Here's my pick this week ...

I wasn't able to sign up for the cover reveal of this book because PFFT I missed the chance to do so. Then due to me being really busy with real life and the Philippine Blog Tour for THE LIGHT IN THE WOUND by Christine Brae that I've organized (along side The Bookwhore Diares), I somewhat forgot to share the COVER for Christine's upcoming book. Anyways, I'll still be able to share it here in my blog this Wednesday because IN THIS LIFE belongs to my list of Most Anticipated releases in 2015! It's the perfect book to feature for this week's Waiting on Wednesday post!

Why am I eager to read In This Life? I love the premise of the book and I'm sure Christine Brae will take me into another roller coaster ride with this one. And now that the cover's been finally revealed, I'm lusting over this simple yet uber pretty cover of it!

Scroll along now, book nerds!

Title: IN THIS LIFE
Author: Christine Brae (Website|Twitter)
Publication Date: February 1, 2015

SYNOPSIS

"Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere,

They’re in each other all along."
Rumi

They say that life is full of choices. When you’re young and idealistic, you believe that the path you choose is the road that will lead you to your destiny.

But what if, along the way, fate decides to step in, and no amount of logic or rationality or even prayers can save you from your fortune? When the sacrifices you make, the love that you find, and the bright promise of the future are all snatched away from you, you’re left alone to pick up the pieces of your life.

This is a story about love, found in a faraway place by two very unlikely people. It is also a story about friendship and loyalty and fighting for what you have despite the illogical mystery of fate. It is a story of faith and acceptance, and learning that even the best-laid plans are powerless against the alignment of the universe.

From the beaches of Thailand to the streets of New York, three friends, Anna, Dante, and Jude will learn the hard way that once providence steps in, there is nothing in the world that can change what is truly meant to be.
