It Ends with Us: A Short Note to Colleen Hoover

Title: IT ENDS WITH US
Author: Colleen Hoover (Twitter | Facebook)
Publication Date: August 2, 2016
Publisher: Atria Books

SYNOPSIS

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

A Short Note to Colleen Hoover
Just a note, since I believe that it is best to dive into this book - blind and freely allow Colleen to give you chills through her words.

Dear Colleen Hoover,

I don't know what to say about It Ends with Us. But what I do know is that I want say great things about it to encourage more readers, more people, to hear your voice - to hear your story. I've been staring at my laptop for quite some time now and words just went out the window. You've literally left me speechless. That last chapter + epilogue + note combo you pulled in this book was a sure killer. I also know that I'm barely coherent to be typing in this note but whatever. I'm just going to wing it from here and tell you something.

Thank you for being so brave and bold. Thank you for deciding to share the story that enfolded in It Ends with Us to us. I am, we are, lucky. Now, I finally know why you're so nervous about the release of this book and why IEWU means a lot to you.

A huge part of you, of who you are, bleeds through these pages.

Your honesty on how you intricately wrote this story brought in how raw, profound, moving and deeply personal this book is. It is all too real. It Ends with Us is like Colleen Hoover by Colleen Hoover. You've left marks everywhere - from the major events that transpired in Lily's life down to the littlest of things mentioned. You've left a "Colleen Hoover" imprint all throughout the book.

And now, you've left an imprint on me. Once again.

Thank you.

An avid reader of yours,
Amanda

About SURVIVING ICE:

Ivy Lee, a talented tattoo artist who spent the early part of her twenties on the move, is looking for a place to call home. She thinks she might have finally found it working in her uncle’s tattoo shop in San Francisco. But all that changes when a robbery turns deadly, compelling her to pack up her things yet again.

When they need the best, they call him. That’s why Sebastian Riker is back in California, cleaning up the mess made after a tattoo shop owner with a penchant for blackmail got himself shot. But it’s impossible to get the answers he needs from a dead body, leaving him to look elsewhere. Namely, to the twenty-something-year-old niece who believes this was a random attack. Who needs to keep believing that until Sebastian finds what he’s searching for.

Ivy has one foot out of San Francisco when a chance encounter with a stranger stalls her departure. She’s always been drawn to intense men, so it’s no wonder that she now finds a reason to stay after all, quickly intoxicated by his dark smile, his intimidating strength, and his quiet control.

This novella, MAYBE NOT, is actually a spin-off story from her MAYBE SOMEDAY novel! MAYBE NOT will center on the characters of Warren and Bridgette of Maybe Someday!

Raise your hands if you're excited for the release of this baby! <3

Author: Colleen Hoover (Website | Twitter)
Publisher: Atria Unbound
Publication Date: November 24, 2014

SYNOPSIS

Colleen Hoover, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe Someday brilliantly brings to life the story of the wonderfully hilarious and charismatic Warren in a new novella, Maybe Not.

When Warren has the opportunity to live with a female roommate, he instantly agrees. It could be an exciting change.

Or maybe not.

Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to love with that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory.

Will Bridgette find it in herself to warm her heart to Warren and finally learn to love?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

BOOK REVIEW | [ARC] UGLY LOVE by Colleen Hoover

Title: UGLY LOVE
Author: Colleen Hoover (Website | Twitter)
Publisher: Atria Books
Publication Date: August 5, 2014

SYNOPSIS

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.

Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.

Promises get broken.

Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

I’m a very emotional reader. I’ve cried in most books that I’ve read and people who’ve been following my blog or friends with me in Goodreads can attest to that. So, it’s really a no brainer that I’ve cried while reading EVERY. SINGLE. BOOK. Colleen Hoover (MY QUEEN *bows down*) has written. Like all of ‘em. Even the uber short novella companion for the Hopeless series, Finding Cinderella, made me tear up. BUT.

BUT NOTHING COULD’VE PREPARED ME FOR THE AVALANCHE OF EMOTIONS UGLY LOVE DUMPED ON ME. None. Nada. So, if you were moved by her previous books then you’ll probably drown or be ruined while reading this one.

Well played. Well done, MY QUEEN. *slow claps* You did it again. You’ve contributed another masterpiece to the book-verse with your book, Ugly Love. It deserves all the anticipation and the hype that it’s been getting from bloggers and early readers of the book. It’s definitely a must-read book. Here’s a direct quote taken from my review of Maybe Someday that I feel like I should also include it in here because that's how I'm feeling again and now towards Ugly Love: I shouldn’t even be surprised by how beautiful this book turned out to be because time and time again, Hoover proved to us how talented, passionate she is into writing her books and how her books turn out to be carved into sheer perfection.. I think, nothing could ever go wrong with Colleen and the books that she’s writing.

I declare it and I think everybody will declare it after they’re read it that UGLY LOVE is totally the HOTTEST and MOST HEARTBREAKING Colleen Hoover book, by far. She definitely stepped it up a notch with writing this one. It’s very noticeable that her books are getting more mature, emotional and painful by the time she publishes another book. We can see her incredible growth towards how she chooses the materials for her book and how she writes it.

FIRST TIME I WON SOMETHING AND IT’S AN ARC OF UGLY LOVE | Ramblings

Towards the last week of May, I entered the Twitter giveaway of Ms. Johanna Castillo (Colleen’s editor) for the ARC of Ugly Love. It was a simple contest wherein I have to retweet a tweet of hers and then I’ll be entered into the giveaway. I gave it shot and only to find out a few days after that I won the contest! WOOT WOOT!

MY GOODNESS! I’ll get to read UGLY LOVE months/days before the release? Holy shit, yes! I was ecstatic.  From that day on, I was in contact with Ms. Johanna for the updates of the whereabouts of my galley.

The month of June entered and it’s still a no show on my doorstep. *messages Ms. Johanna*

I was getting really worried that it got stuck somewhere and I won’t be able to have it in my hands. I was shitless scared for it was the first time I won something  (IT’S A BOOK THAT I’M EAGERLY ANTICIPATING) and I’d probably end up not being able to receive it. That sucks, right?

Then entered the first week of July, still a no show. *wrings my hands*

July 21 came in.

And to my surprise, there was a package waiting for me!!!

I was praying to all the Saints for the package to contain the ARC already! Phew, please! I slowly opened it and took a deep breath before I checked the content … AND TADA!!!! Rejoice! Squeals were heard. I was happy dancing around the house. Even my fangirl heart is tapping away inside of my body!

I CAN'T EVEN DFHASJFIOAS!!! MY CoHo fangirl heart cannot contain
all the feels when I saw this baby!

BOOK REVIEW: FINDING CINDERELLA by Colleen Hoover

Finding Cinderella (Hopeless, #2.5)Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So, Finding Cinderella is the first book I've read after that reading break that I gave myself since Friday night. Actually, I was just fangirling all over the place during those free days. But right now, I'm back and will try to catch up with the books I was supposed to read...

Finding Cinderella is a novella companion to Hopeless Series (and if you haven't read that yet, PLEASE go look for a copy of it). At first I was kind of doubtful with this one with just being a novella. I don't know how the story will play out and if it'll fit as a novella considering that it's much shorter than a full blown book. But after reading it, I was like Mmm yeah it was just perfect for the story and it still feels like a novel at the same time. It was a beautiful, great, amazing (and I could go on and on and on with this use of other adjectives) novella. The story made me laugh/giggle and made my heart ache. I definitely enjoyed every single bit of it. I loved it.

With the identity of "Cinderella", I think for the readers it was pretty much obvious on who's the mystery girl. But it was the matter on how the main characters will be able to realize that fact and what other factors that may spring out out of that situation. It just makes you want to carry on reading and begging that they'll realize it already.

Aaaaand this book also brought the element of surprise to the table. Come on, I never would've guessed what "Cinderella" revealed upon Daniel realizing that she was the girl. That idea didn't even cross my mind. Sad.

Anyways, I’m just happy for Daniel and his “Cinderella”. They are just spot on perfect for each other. Both of them had their fair share of lows in their lives but sdfjds they freakin’ deserve to be happy now and to just be with each other. Every single moment that they had in this book was so beautiful, so sweet and in other bits was so intense (their chemistry just blows off the roof of our house lol). *sighs* Perf!

Wait. A BIG LOL to POWDER PUFF! Oh man, that nickname for Breckin just cracks me up!!!

Okay bye. x
